Open Studio Time

Welcome to the Alice Fossatti Ceramics Studio (AFCS)! In addition to classes, community members over 18 who have taken a class at PCA and/or demonstrated basic knowledge of the tools and equipment in the AFCS may book Open Studio time for independent study.

Open Studio punch cards are available for sale in the Pendleton Foundation Trust Fine Craft Gallery, located on the second floor. Cards are good for 6 hours of Open Studio time and are $20 each. This is a community facility, and there may be other community members using the AFCS at the same time. Check out our Open Studio Guidelines HERE.

CLAY REQUIREMENTS

25-pound bags of Georgie’s G-Mix 6 clay may be purchased through PCA, depending on availability, at cost + transportation fee. Current cost is $27 per 25-pound bag. Clay is purchased several times a year. Check with PCA staff for availability or dates of next clay delivery.

If you provide your own clay, PCA staff must sign off on it before anything can be fired. We fire at cone 6. Low-fire or other outside clays are not allowed in the studio. All personal clay must be clearly labeled and stored separately from the class materials.

GLAZE REQUIREMENTS

PCA uses cone 6, Amaco glazes. Both brush-on and dipped glazes are available in limited colors. A flat $20 fee is assessed on up to 10 pieces of glazed pottery. We fire at cone 6 for glazing. Any outside glazes must be approved before use and may not be stored in the Alice Fossatti Ceramics Studio.

CALCULATE FIRING FEES

You’ll be able to print the form and provide a copy to PCA with your items to be fired.  Firing fee includes both bisque and glaze fire.
