OCTOBER 29 (One Session)

The earliest block printing practices originated in China during the third century AD. Since then, block printing has become a standard practice in the art world, and a great way to make multiple originals. So, what is block printing? It is a technique that uses a carved material (think wood or linoleum) to transfer ink onto paper. The block serves as a stamp, with the final product resulting in a mirror image of the original carving. Join Marie, as she guides you through the process of creating and designing your own printing block and bring it to life using the skills and techniques that you’ll develop in this workshop. Participants will leave with an edition of prints, samples from other students, and their finished block to print over and over again at home. Supplies and materials will be provided.
