GRANT WRITER

The Grant Writer reports to the Executive Director and is classified under the Fair Labor Standards Act as non-exempt.
Schedule: 20 hours per week, flexible hours/days, some work from home allowed.
Compensation
$1800.00-2000.00 per month, depending on qualifications
Exhibit and Craft Gallery purchases at artists’ cost (30% discount)
Free, private use of artists’ studios (painting, ceramics, graphics) when classes are not in session.

Job Overview:
The Grant Writer plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial stability of the Pendleton Center for the Arts (PCA). This is a part-time, non-exempt position that requires some on-premises work and also has some flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive grant strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director to support PCA’s goals and mission.
- Collaborates with Executive Director and Board to set fundraising goals and priorities.
- Identifies new private, corporate, and state grant funding sources
- Leads the grant writing process, including prospect research, proposal development, and grant reporting.
- Ensures compliance with relevant grant regulations and ethical standards.
- Prepares and presents monthly funding progress reports for the Board of Directors.
- Effectively communicates PCA business with supervisors, co-workers, interns, and volunteers, providing information by telephone, in written form, in person, and/ or electronically.
- Maintains a commitment to PCA’s mission of inclusion and to welcoming everyone into the PCA facility and programming.
- Performs a limited number of other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in grant writing.
- Familiarity of regional, Northwest, and national art and culture funders, and an understanding of Oregon agencies supporting art and culture.
- Experience navigating online grant portals and platforms used by the State of Oregon, Foundation, and Corporate grant providers.
- Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body, arms and/or legs.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
