PHYSICAL POETRY
with Hadley Marshall
WEDNESDAYS, 4:00–5:00 PM
April 1st–29th (5 sessions)

Celebrate National Poetry Month through hands-on artmaking in Physical Poetry, a creative class for adults and teens ages 16+ that brings poems off the page and into three-dimensional form. Students will explore poetry—including haikus—and learn how words, rhythm, and imagery can inspire sculptural artwork. Using a variety of materials, participants will create sculptures based on poems read and discussed in class, translating language into physical form through texture, shape, and movement. The focus is on creativity, interpretation, and playful experimentation rather than technical perfection. The class is taught by Hadley Marshall, an artist with a degree in both English and Art, who enjoys helping students connect visual art and language in meaningful ways
